Art and design, or the ‘visual artist’ side of Mazeter , which stretches out to video production, photography, art and design. From his early teens, Nick not only developed and studied music, but has always been developing other ways to express his creativity, as it goes well beyond music. Through self-study, training and guidance he developed his techniques over the years. He’s a font follower of mathematically inspired work based on Fibonacci, the ‘golden ratio’ found everywhere in nature, even in music.
At least once in your life you have to see the masters like Rembrandt,
Van Gogh and Vermeer. Get to know Picasso, Salvador Dali, and so many more, like the work of M.C. Esher.
Mazeter considers his visual work as a logical extention to his music. Although his art and design (also) has a fan base and life of it’s own, the different work disciplines do inlfuence one another and go well together.
“Being able to express myself, in any form, has always been driving me. I used to work with all sorts of designers and artist in my career. By working together with them I learned my work actually survived on it’s own merrits, and there was a market and demand for them. So the visual artist side, which has been going on almost as long as my musical endeavours, is nowadays as much present in my portfolio as my music. Call it my complement or my other side. I go from music to designing, from music to art, and for some projects it all flows together with my poetry and writing, like lyrics and literature. Something which was never intended, but surfaced and proved lasting and meaningful, to others I mean. And of course, also to me personally”.
The gallery below shows a cross-section of Nick’s artwork. Some of his design work is found on his Pinterest page. A selection to his photography work (which is sold/licensed professionally) will be posted in the near future.
